Troubleshooting

Common things that go sideways, and how to fix them. If you don't see your issue here, email hi@chosencal.com.

A calendar isn't syncing
  1. Open the Calendars page and look for a yellow or red status badge next to the calendar — that means the token expired.
  2. Click Reconnect on that calendar to refresh the token.
  3. If it still doesn't sync, click Disconnect, then add it again from scratch.
No confirmation email arrived
  1. Check your spam / promotions folder — first emails from chosencal sometimes land there.
  2. Add hi@chosencal.com to your contacts so future emails come straight to the inbox.
  3. Make sure the email address used to book was typed correctly. The manage link on /bookings shows what was entered.
  4. If you're sure the address is correct and nothing arrives within ~5 minutes, email us — most often a deliverability block on the recipient's end.
Booker doesn't see the event on their own calendar
  1. Confirm their email was added as an attendee (visible on the event in your main calendar).
  2. Some corporate inboxes block calendar invites from unknown senders. Ask them to check their email filter rules.
  3. If they're using Outlook, the invite arrives as an email — they may need to click 'Accept' to actually add it to their calendar.
Microsoft sign-in keeps failing
  1. If you see 'AADSTS50194' or 'AADSTS50011', clear your browser cache or try incognito — Microsoft caches old authorize state aggressively.
  2. Confirm you're using a Microsoft account that still has Outlook calendar access (the calendar add-on isn't included in every Microsoft 365 plan).
  3. If your IT admin restricts third-party apps, they may need to approve chosencal in your tenant.
Google Meet link wasn't created
  1. Meet links require a Google calendar as the main calendar. If you signed in with Microsoft and added Google as a source, the main calendar is Outlook — switch your main calendar on the Calendars page.
  2. If the issue persists, disconnect and reconnect your Google account so chosencal can re-request the Meet creation permission.
Slots show up in the wrong timezone
  1. On the scheduler's edit page, check the Timezone field is set to your timezone.
  2. Bookers see slots in their own browser's timezone — if a booker tells you a time looks wrong, ask which timezone they're seeing.
  3. Travel: if you're temporarily in a different timezone, your scheduler config should still be your home timezone. Don't change it for one trip.
Slots are missing or fewer than expected
  1. Check working hours on the scheduler — empty days produce zero slots.
  2. Buffer + cooldown + min notice can eat into availability more than you'd expect. A 60-min meeting with 15-min buffer and 4-hour notice on a busy day might leave only 2 slots.
  3. Max horizon: slots are only generated up to N days out (default 30).
  4. A connected calendar showing busy time you don't recognize? Open that calendar to confirm — it might be a recurring event or a hidden subscription.
Sync seems slow
  1. Polls run every 20 seconds. Google calendars also push live updates, so most changes land in 1–2s.
  2. If a change hasn't propagated after a minute, force a sync from the Calendars page (Sync now button).
  3. Heavy usage in your account or a temporary Google/Microsoft API hiccup can cause delays — usually clears on its own.
Embed widget doesn't show up
  1. Check the browser console (F12) — most embed issues are JS errors or a wrong URL.
  2. On Brave with strict shields, iframes can be blocked. Our script auto-falls back to an 'Open in new tab' button.
  3. Make sure the URL in the embed matches an enabled scheduler. Disabled schedulers don't render a booking UI.
