Coincide & preferred times

Coincide is what makes chosencal different. We read the last 6 months of your calendar to learn the times you actually take meetings — not the times your working-hours config says you do.

What we detect

When you connect a calendar, we analyze patterns: which days you meet most, what time of day clusters, how often you take morning vs. afternoon calls. The result is a set of detected windows — short ranges like "Tue 10–12" with a confidence weight.

You see these on the dashboard as Calendar Insights, as pills with day + time + weight.

Where they get used

• New schedulers — when you create one, we pre-fill the "preferred times" field with detected windows. Tweak or clear them as you like.
• Per-scheduler suggestions — each scheduler also gets its own detection pass to surface windows specific to that meeting type.
• Coincide bonus — when another chosencal user books with you, slots inside your preferred windows get a ranking bonus on their side. Two chosencal users naturally converge on times that work well for both.

Manual control

You always have the final word. On any scheduler, the Preferred Times editor lets you add, remove, or weight windows by hand. Detection just gives you a sensible default.

Re-detection

Detection runs:

• Once when you connect your first calendar (so we have data on day one).
• On a 7-day timer at the user level — keeps your dashboard insights fresh.
• On a 30-day timer per scheduler.
• Any time you click the Recalculate or Re-detect button.

Privacy

Detection only looks at when meetings happen — not titles, attendees, or content. Nothing leaves your account. Everything we learn about you stays in your own database row.

Why "Coincide"?

Because when both sides of a meeting use chosencal, the times you actually like are the ones that bubble to the top — instead of the first available slot that happens to fit both calendars.
